WHAT WAS ON AT VINTAGE 2010

The Vintage team have set out to bring great MUSIC|, FASHION|, ART| and DESIGN|, FILM|, and FOOD| and all that is great about CREATIVE LIFE together for a long weekend every August.

This is not merely a MUSIC FESTIVAL - we passionately believe that music, fashion and design should never be separated...

Could the beat combos and the rock of the 60s have gained such momentum without Carnaby St, Granny Takes a Trip, the Pop Artists, photographers and film makers that were “at one” with the musicians?

Could there have been the Sex Pistols, the Clash et al without Vivienne Westwood, Malcolm McLaren and the epoch defining Seditionaries shop?

Could Duran Duran, Depeche Mode and the 80s futurists have evolved without hanging out in Kensington Market and at The Blitz Club?

At Vintage at Goodwood music does not exist in isolation…you will find music collaborations, music and fashion collaborations, music, fashion and film collaborations and art and design collaborations.

Vintage at Goodwood is not just about headline acts that are used to sell tickets, it’s about intelligently assembling line up of performers, fashion shows, art and design content that will delight, surprise and hopefully prompt visitors to want to find out more about a band, an artist, a designer, a film or an art movement that they had little prior knowledge of.  Vintage at Goodwood will be an aural, visual stimulating experience that re unites what is great about creative Britain.

We have assembled a curator team of proven experts in their musical genres who have spent the last year putting together line ups that we believe show how it should be done. From the multi talented Snowboy and his Torch Club|, through The Highliners lead singer Luke Morgan and his Let it Rock| venue, to Acid Jazz founder, the perennial mod Eddie Piller and his Soul Casino|, to the guru of grooviness Mike Flowers in the Leisure Dome|, to Greg Wilson and young Jack H bringing the history of dance DJs to you in The Warehouse and Roller Disco| and to Martyn Ware founder member of the Human League and Heaven 17 whoseInspired By Stage| is truly inspired.

Vintage at Goodwood is a “wide church” and covers all aspects of creative culture. We are building a curatorial team and each area has its own curator who loves and is knowledgeable about their specialist field. From Design| by Morag Mysercough, to Fashion|. Food| with Valentina Harris, Environment and Sustainability| by Louise Kamara, Campsite Experiences| by Guy Tillyard, Kids and Families| by Kate Cullinan, Art| by Ellie Arnold, to the Lucky Bag| boys Keith Stephenson and Mark Hampshire. Harry & Edna| brought to you their Home Front Friends Harry Dickinson and Amanda Pickard and many more Vintage at Goodwood is being put together with real care and attention to detail by individuals who “know their onions”.

This approach can only make the Vintage at Goodwood experience even more special, a festival that actually defines the origin of the term festival … A CELEBRATION.

The new festival that celebrates everything that is great about the British creative industries is here… welcome to the new FESTIVAL OF BRITAIN.

Have a good delve into all the nooks and crannies of this mighty fine website to get a full idea of the breadth and depth of Vintage at Goodwood.

Come and join us and let’s build a summer festival that is so much more than what we have been offered on the festival circuit.
